(1) 康卜吞望遠鏡計畫
這項計畫的目的是研製一個以高純度鍺為材料的gamma射線 (0.2 – 10 MeV) 偵測器, 預定在2008年年底進行長時間高空氣球飛行測試, 做為未來衛星計畫的基礎. 主要的科學目標包括探討銀河中心的電子正子成對湮滅的輻射, 鋁26同位素的來源, 以及波霎gamma射線偏極化的測量. 這項計畫是台灣幾所大學以及國家太空中心與美國加州柏克萊大學的合作計畫. 清華大學是台灣團隊的計畫主持機構.
(2) 海王星外天體的X射線掩星事件
在我們從Sco X-1的RXTE/PCA資料庫數據中發現海王星外天體的X射線掩星事件之後,我們持續研究海王星外天體的各種性質, 例如其數量與大小的分布. 這些都和早期太陽系行星形成的過程有關. 我們同時也在嘗試著建立一個利用海王星外天體的X射線掩星事件來解析背景緻密X光天體的方法.
(3) 孤立的中子星
孤立的中子星以各種面貌出現, 例如大部分的無線電波霎, gamma射線波霎, 異常X射線波霎, 軟gamma爆重覆源, 以及某些孤立的X射線源. 它們有些具有超強的磁場 (1014 - 1015 G,, 超強磁中子星), 有些可能是夸克星. 在它們的磁層裡有各種輻射產生. 我們同時從觀測與理論模型兩方面研究這些系統.
