Hsinchu city is located in the northwestern part of Taiwan, the site of Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park trespasses the county and the city, with the developed area of 625 acres. Famous universities and research centers such as National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University are all located in this area.

Transportation:
The National Chiao Tung University is located 15 minutes of driving from the city center. Zhongshan Freeway, about 70km to Taipei, is its major route. It also takes 50 minutes of driving to C.K.S. or Taiwan,  Airport and 2 hours to Keelung in the north and to Taichung Harbor in the south. Further, people can also take Freeway, via Judong, to Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park. As to rail transportation. High speed Rail is now operational and has a stop in Chu-Pei, about15 minute of drive from Hsinchu city. Shuttle buses and taxis are availabe at the HSR station. The Western line Taoyuang(TTY) of Taiwan Rail, it is the major route that travels along western Taiwan, regarding Hsinchu as one of its major stops.

From Airport:
The fastest way to get from C.K.S.(or TTY) Airport to NCTU is by taxi. The fare is about NT1300 and the drive takes 40min to 1 hour.

Taxis are available at TTY Airport 24 hours a day.

From Taiwan Rail Train Station:

Get on the local bus number 2 located next to the SOGO Department Store.The fare is NT 15 for each person.You can get off at the north gate of National Chiao Tung University.
Instead,you may take a taxi.The fare is about NT 200 from Hsinchu train station to NCTU.

From other cties-by car:
Take Freeway 1 or Freeway 3 toward Hsin-Chu. If you take Freeway 3 , connect to Freeway 1 at Chu-Nan system interchange towards North. Then get off Freeway 1 at Hsin-Chu interchange towards Hsin-Chu City. Then turn left to the Ta Hsueh Road which is near the gas station.The entrance of the NCTU is at the end of the road.
