Visa
General
- Taiwan currently offers visa-free entry privileges to citizens of 31 countries listed below.
- All of them are limited to stays of no more than 30 days, except for Japanese citizens.
- These have been granted 90-day visa-free entry privileges since Feb. 1 of this year to fulfill the principle of reciprocity, as Taiwanese citizens are already enjoying the same privileges when visiting Japan since 2005.
- Visitors from a small number of other countries can obtain a landing visa upon arrival.
- Citizens from all other countries should have a valid visa before departure.

ROC (Taiwan) Embassies around the world.

Nationals of the following countries are eligible for the visa exemption program,
with a duration of stay of up to 90 days: Andorra, Australia (effective from
January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2016), Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia,
Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary,
Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein,
Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland,
Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland,
UK, USA, Vatican City State.

Nationals of the following countries—except those holding diplomatic or official/service
passports—are eligible for the visa exemption program, with a duration of stay of up to
90 days: Chile.

Nationals of the following countries are eligible for the visa exemption program,
with a duration of stay of up to 30 days: Malaysia, Singapore.

Nationals of the following countries—except those holding diplomatic or official/service
passports—are eligible for the visa exemption program, with a duration of stay of up to
30 days: Brunei (effective from August 1, 2016, to July 31, 2017),
Thailand (effective from August 1, 2016, to July 31, 2017).
- Holders of Turkish passport with validity of more than six months.
- Holders of Macedonian passport with validity of more than six months.
- Holders of emergency or temporary passports with validity of more than
six months for nationals of those countries(execpt for US) eligible for
visa-exempt entry.
