The main goal of these lectures is to help participants gain some
understanding of the activities in helicity
formulation of scattering
amplitudes in QCD and gravity. The approach may eventually have
bearing on
the renormalization of gravity and/or the necessary modifications
therein. Thus, we shall cover
(1) SL(2,C) analysis
(2) Spinor algebra
(3) Color decomposition of QCD amplitudes
(4) Basic manipulations to construct color-stripped helicity amplitudes
(5) Complex momentum continuation to obtain BCFW recursion formula,
which generates higher point on-shell scattering
amplitudes from lower point on-shell ones.
(6) Set of minimal independent color-stripped amplitudes for a
n-particle process.
(7) Relations between graviton and QCD amplitudes (KLT).
We Shall use simple examples rather than general proofs to present the
material and shall confine to tree level discussion only.
Some knowledge of elementary field theory is expected.
